Indorama Chemicals, established in 1990, is a specialty chemicals producer located in Thailand. Specifically, the facility produces Furfural and Furfuryl Alcohol.

These specialty chemicals are principally applied in industrial use. Furfural is a chemical intermediate in the production of Furfuryl Alcohol, which is subsequently used in the production of various industrial moulds, pipes, tanks, ducts, etc. Furfuryl Alcohol is also used as a chemical compound in the creation of pharmaceutical products.

The raw material used in the production of these specialty chemicals is corncobs. The facility purchases corncobs, an agricultural waste, and converts them into a useful and environmentally friendly product. This in turn generates extra income for the corn farmers.

Indorama Chemicals was the first facility in South East Asia to manufacture Furfuryl Alcohol and the company is today a leading global manufacturer of Furfural and Furfuryl Alcohol.
